Comment Bug

For those of you having trouble with making a comment, I believe the problem is patched for now, and the programmer will have a permenant solution with the next release.

i made a change to the code that should allow IE 6 folks to post comments to the site normally. Let me know if that is the case.

Day 1

Ok... first thing's first.

This doesn't work. I know. BUT it has more what you guys seemed to want. SO, i started here.

the other site is still accessible on the old server. SO ... feel free to help me by moving stuff over for yourself. If you can't figure it out, let me know adn i'll do it for you. MOst folks were asking to be deleted anyways. SO i don't anticipate much in the way of asking.

Also, let me know if you want me to move your old DMV library over, i can do that too, probably.

Day 2: Messages suck

yeah, this isn't easy.

Well, apparently this is going to be more difficult than i hoped. BUT, eventually we'll get there. Now, as far as the rest of the site goes, i dont' really need positive feedback. YOu're all very sweet, but I know it sucks. I am hopeful it'll be better soon, but right now, i'ts awful. I'm not inviting folks to join or anything until it's much further alone. PREFERABLY once the messaging works and the navigation on the right side is more filled out.

Day 3: Messages Still Suck..and now comments

Ok. Alessandra notified me of a problem where work in protected sections can't be commented on. I'm looking into it. I will offer solutions as i find them. Oh, and i'm still waiting to hear back from support on the mail problem. There won't be IM's but at least there will be email contact -- with hidden addresses.

Day 4: The suffering

Well, today i looked into upgrading the server. More space. More speed. Updated software. So, let us see how that goes. I'm optimistic that we'll get somewhere. I think my messenger problem is due to old software on the server. I've needed to upgrade for a while, but I hate spending the money.

Day 8: The Beginning?

In some ways, I feel like things are actually starting now. There definitely is a learning curve here that is making many people uncomfortable. However, there also seems to be a slow movement towards functionality that is reassuring. Perhaps this will work! The negativity I think is fair and warranted since I have in the last 6mos really let down the community in a big way. Hopefully we'll be back on track in the next few weeks.

Don't panic

DOing some maintanance this weekend. No big deal. Everything's completely backed up.

we're in good shape. I'm just trying to fix a few minor bugs. (nah, i'm not going to point them out to you!)

Anyways, you'll notice a bit of weirdness here and there, but hopefully i'll be happier when it's done.
